Arjun Rampal Still To Get A Clean Chit From The NCB In Drug Case, Agency Claims Actor Was Trying To Flee To South Africa

Arjun Rampal was one of the many Bollywood celebrities who were called in for questioning by the Narcotics Control Bureau last year after the agency began probe into the drugs links associated with the Sushant Singh Rajput case. While most of all the celebrities questioned including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan among others were given a clean chit by the NCB, actor Arjun Rampal’s name has not year been removed from the list of suspects.

Arjun and his girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades were called in for questioning by the agency in November after some prohibited drugs were discovered at their home during a search conducted at their home. According to a Mid-Day report, the NCB recovered 14 tablets of Clonazepam Dispersible Tablet Clonotril and four tablets of Ultracet Tramadol Hydrochloride and Acetaminophen from the actor’s home for which he was asked to furnish a prescription for. The actor told NCB that the Ultracet was prescribed to his dog while the Clonazepam tablets belonged to his sister Komal who occasionally stayed at him home.

The report claims that while the veterinary prescription checked out, the Clonazepam prescription was issued in Delhi at a date after Arjun’s questioning by the NCB. While his sister’s statement was also recorded, the doctor who prescribed the medicine told the agency that a telephonic consultation for Komal Rampal happened on 10 November 2020 and the prescription dating from September was a mistake.

Additionally, Gabriella’s brother Agisilaos was claimed by the NCB to be a suspect in two cases and the agency found that he was using Arjun’s name to sell drugs. While Arjun denied any knowledge of this, the NCB still has its doubts.

In December, the agency also wrote to the Consulate General of Republic of South Africa to warn them about the actor being a suspect and Gabriella’s brother’s association with the drug case citing that the actor was trying to flee the country.

Arjun Rampal’s name has been listed as a suspect in the 50,000 page charge sheet filed by the agency. The name of Agisilaos Demetriades has also been mentioned in the same.
