Ayushmann Khurana’s Badhaai Ho To Get A Sequel? Here Are The Details

Last year, Ayushmann Khurana starrer Badhaai Ho had won many hearts and there is no doubt that we can watch this movie again and again and it still would leave the same impact on us as it did for the first time. Badhaai Ho filled the audience's hearts with laughter and love and it made us realize the importance of family. The film was directed by Amit Sharma and also starred Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta, Surekha Sikri and Gajraj Rao in the main roles.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Badhaai Ho is all set to get a second installment. When asked about the same, a source said, "The script has been locked, and the makers are on the lookout to finalize on the cast." The source further added, "The second installment will revolve around the shenanigans of a joint family and two young couples." 

Recently, the 66th National Film Awards were held and Badhaai Ho was awarded the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award. Not only this, but the cast of the film also received the award.  Ayushmann was awarded as Best Actor for both Badhai Ho and Andhadhun. Surekha Sikri also won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor.  

When Ayushmann talked about his win, he said, “It’s truly humbling and hugely gratifying to win the coveted National Awards. As an artist, I have always tried to back disruptive content that stands out for its quality content. Today’s honor is a validation of my hard work, my belief system, my journey in movies and my reason to be an actor in the first place.” 

Badhaai Ho also brought a huge turn in Neena Gupta's professional life.  Post the victory, she said, "Yes I am very happy, I had forgotten the National Film Awards weren’t held till now. They are late this time because of elections. Suddenly I came to know about them from Twitter and I couldn’t believe it we got two awards...three awards in a way. I will say three because of Ayushmann bhi hume apna hi lagta hai, who got the Best Actor for Andhadhun. I am so happy."
