Ayushmann Khurrana Reveals Juicy Details About Gulabo Sitabo Co-Starring Amitabh Bachchan; Says ‘This One Is Pure Fun’

One of the most talented and sought-after actors of the Hindi film industry, Ayushmann Khurrana is leaving his fans in awe with one splendid film after another. Well, after winning hearts with his performance in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, the heartthrob is now getting ready to wow us yet again with his next, Gulabo Sitabo. Directed by Shoojit Sircar and slated to hit theatres on 17^th April, the family comedy drama marks Ayushmann’s first collaboration with the ultimate superstar of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan.

In a recent chat with Bollywood Hungama, the actor opened up about his upcoming film and shared, “After a series of socially relevant films Gulabo Sitabo is my first out-and-out entertainer about these two squabbling souls from different generations. Amitji is my landlord. I am his tenant. And we just don’t see eye to eye.”

When asked how Gulabo Sitabo is different from his earlier projects, Ayushmann said, “All my recent films have tackled issues. This one is pure fun, and I had so much fun doing it. I was sharing screen space for the first time with Amitji. That in itself was enough incentive to be part of Gulabo Sitabo. On top of that, this is a film directed by my mentor Shoojitda (Shoojit Sircar). Even if he asked me to just stand in one frame for a few seconds I’d do it happily.”

After starring in one hit after another, Ayushmann is currently taking a much-deserved break from work and Gulabo Sitabo will be his last release for at least a year. Talking about the same, he stated, “But it’s not as if I am going to be invisible. There are ads to be shot, events to be attended, public appearances will continue. Besides, I am constantly reading scripts. And I’ve already said yes to one new project.”
