Ayushmann Khurrana On Signing Gulabo Sitabo with Amitabh Bachchan: 'Want To Become A Better Actor'

In what can be called casting coup, director Shoojit Sircar is bringing together Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan with Ayushmann Khurrana, in his next titled Gulabo Sitabo. This is the first time that the two actors are coming together on the big screen and Ayushmann who is the current poster boy of Bollywood's content films, couldn't be more excited!

“I have grown up on Amitabh sir’s movies and like every Indian boy idolised him, followed him and wanted to be like him since my childhood. Like millions of Indians, I’m a huge fan of the legend so it’s a dream come true for me to get the opportunity to share screen space with him and learn from him face to face,” Ayushmann said on signing the film.

The versatile actor will certainly be living a dream on the sets of Gulabo Sitabo as there are so many big Bollywood stars who would kill to work with Amitabh Bachchan. “It’s really a surreal moment for me. It’s a moment that I have always wished for ever since the time I wanted to become an actor but now that I’m going to finally act with him, I think it’s going to be extremely overwhelming for me,” Ayushmann added.

Ayushmann can't wait for the film to go on floors as he is eager to learn from the best actor in our country. The actor who gave two super hit films in 2018, Badhaai Ho and AndhaDhun, has certainly added a feather in his hat and has his Vicky Donor director to thank for it. “It’s a real honour for me as an actor to be able to go through this experience and an incredibly proud moment as an artiste that Shoojit da thought of taking me in this film that has an icon like Bachchan sir. I’m excited to start this journey and become a better actor in the process”.

Gulabo Sitabo is a family comedy which hit the theatres in November 2019.  It is Ayushmann's second project with Shoojit Sircar after Vicky Donor, which was his debut in Bollywood.
