Banita Sandhu Confirms She's A Part Of Vicky Kaushal's Sardar Udham Singh, Calls The Actor 'Amazing'

Banita Sandhu has been missing from Bollywood soon after her debut film October opposite Varun Dhawan released in 2018. The actress, who has recently completed the Tamil version of Arjun Reddy, Aditya Verma, has now confirmed that she will also be seen in Sardar Udham Singh starring Vicky Kaushal.

Sardar Udham Singh is being helmed but Shoojit Sircar who also directed Banita in October and the actress is happy to reunite with her debut film’s crew. Banita confirmed to Bollywood Hungama, “Yes I am in Sardar Udham Singh. We shot for it in Punjab. Vicky Kaushal is amazing and it was great to be back working with the October team again.”

The Hindi version of Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, despite being a big hit was embroiled in countless controversies over its content. Banita spoke about the issues with the original and told Film Companion recently, “I’m not going to say ‘no it’s perfect’. It’s not. There are problems with it. There are problems I had while watching that film which I addressed with the direction team before I even started. I told them I’m not comfortable with certain aspects and asked how we could make it better. Vikram sir was actually the one who pioneered the idea of giving my character more autonomy and agency and having more shots of her looking at Dhruv’s character. That’s what we tried to do and I feel very blessed that I had a team that listened to me, especially being a young actress who’s not only from outside the industry but also outside of the country.”

Aditya Verma also marks the big debut of superstar Vikram’s Son Dhruv.
