Before Aamir Khan, Richa Chadda To Work With #MeToo Accused Subhash Kapoor

It came as quite a surprise when Aamir Khan, who had quit Mogul over the issue of director Subhash Kapoor being accused of sexual harassment, decided to re-join the project. Aamir clarified that he thinks that he should be allowed to work until the court reaches a conclusion and looks like Richa Chaddha is following suit.

Before directing Mogul, the Kapoor will now direct Madam Ji, which is a film starring Richa Chaddha, Saurabh Shukla and Akshay Oberoi. Recently, he even went to Lucknow to conduct a recce a for the film and shoot is supposed to commence from October onwards. He will be extensively shooting in the city for a month in places like Jahangirabad and Mahmoodabad palaces, La Martiniere College, Christian College, Malihabad, Aunty House in Narhi and some more.

For the uninitiated, Kapoor was accused of sexual harassment by actress Geetika Tyagi. In fact, she had also reacted on Aamir Khan’s decision to work with Subhash Kapoor and said, “have never said that Subhash shouldn’t get work. But after I complained, I did not get work for a long time. The industry is patriarchal. Only women face the repercussions of complaining against sexual harassment, whether in the workplace or otherwise. They are ostracised when they complain. It’s a sensitive decision on Aamir’s part that Subhash shouldn’t be treated badly until proven guilty. But what about my livelihood that has stopped since 2014?”
