Bharti Singh And Haarsh Limbachiyaa Sentenced To Judicial Custody Till December 4, Bail Plea Hearing On Monday

Comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau after they confessed to consuming marijuana during interrogation. The NCB this morning took the couple for a medical examination post which they were presented before a magistrate who has now sent them into judicial custody until December 4.

The couple has been arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act which prohibits possession and consumption of Ganja (marijuana). The central agency conducted a search of Bharti and Haarsh’s home and production office on Saturday morning and the couple was detained after 86.5 grams ganja was recovered from their possession. The couple was detained by the officials and during questioning confessed to the consumption of the banned narcotics drug.

Bharti and Haarsh were presented before a holiday court on Sunday and their bail plea hearing will be heard on Monday till when they will remain in judicial custody.

An NCB official confirmed that Bharti’s name cropped up during the interrogation of a drug peddler following which a raid was conducted at her home. Haarsh’s lawyer Ayaz Khan argued that that case was at best one of alleged personal consumption and no NCB custody was required but after a judicial custody was announced he filed for a bail plea which will be heard tomorrow.
