Bhoot Police: Arjun Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez And Yami Gautam Starrer Sold To OTT For 60 Crores?

After the success of Stree, horror-comedy has become the new go-to genre for Bollywood and some of these are scheduled to release this year itself. Amongst them was Bhoot Police starring Arjun Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam in the lead, which was scheduled for a theatrical release in September 2020. However, owing to the second phase of lockdown, the makers opted for a direct digital release. The film seems to have been acquired by Disney+ Hotstar, and they have reportedly paid Rs. 60 crores for that!

According to a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, “The satellite and digital rights of Bhoot Police have been sold to Star Network for a sum in the range of Rs. 60 to 65 crores as compared to the budget of Rs 40 crores. With this deal, the producer, Ramesh Taurani, has made an easy table profit in the range of Rs. 20 to 25 crore with some more income expected from the sale or exploitation of music and other rights.”

The source further added that Star Network got a blanket deal for Rs, 60-65 crore and it includes Rs. 40 crores for digital rights and Rs. 15-20 crores for satellite rights. We wonder when the film would be releasing!
