Bhuj: The Pride Of India- Ajay Devgn Starrer To Release On Independence Day 2021?

It was back in 2020 that the announcement of Bhuj: The Pride Of India releasing on OTT was made. Hotstar had announced that the Ajay Devgn starrer would stream on their platform, along with other films like Big Bull, Sadak 2, Laxmii and Dil Bechara. While most of the films have already released, there's no news yet about Bhuj. But now, reports suggest that the film might release on Independence Day! 

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the film, which has the 1971 India-Pakistan war in its backdrop, would release on 15th August 2021 on Hotstar. A source told the portal, “The producers and Disney+ Hotstar team have decided to release Bhuj – The Pride Of India on Independence Day 2021. They feel that this is an apt time to bring this film to the audiences as it deals with a fascinating chapter of Indian history. The makers are hoping that the patriotic flavour and Ajay Devgn’s presence would surely get them record streams.”

With the theme of nationalism, this can actually do well as an Independence Day release. Ajay Devgn would play the character of Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik in the film which would be based on a real event. It is about how 300 women came together to reconstruct an airbase in Bhuj that was destroyed after bombing. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha.
