    Bhumi Pednekar Who Played 'Shooter Dadi' Chandro Tomar Mourns Her Death, Says, "She Left A Very Big Part Of Herself With Me"

    Chandro Tomar, popularly known as ‘Shotter Dadi’ who hailed from Uttar Pradesh and was the world’s oldest female sharp shooter died at 89 today. Bhumi Pednekar who played the national level sharp shooter on the big screen in Tushar Hiranandani’s Saand Ki Aankh, condoled her death and called it a ‘very big personal loss.’

    “It is completely devastating to know that Chandro Dadi is not with us anymore. It really feels like a very big personal loss. She was someone who lived a very full filling life. She made her own rules, paved her own path and she had a beautiful sisterhood and a beautiful partnership with Prakashi dadi and together they left an impact on so many lives,” Bhumi said mourning the loss of Chandro Tomar.

    Talking about having the privilege to play the 89-year-old and bringing her journey to life in the 2019 film Bhumi added, “I feel so fortunate to have played her character, got a chance to learn about life from her and she has left a very big part of herself with me. My condolences to the family and everybody who’s life she impacted because I know there will be many who will be grieving her passing away today. But she always said ‘tann buddha hota hai, mann buddha nai hota.’ I know in spirit she will always be with us because her teachings is going to be with us. She will thoroughly be missed.”

    Chandro Tomar was admitted to a hospital in Meerut after testing positive for Covid-19. She succumbed to the disease leaving millions of her admirers deeply shocked and mourning.
