Bikramjeet Kanwarpal's Debut Director Pooja Bhatt Stunned To Hear Of His Death, Shares An Album Put Together By Him After Paap

Former Major in the Indian Army and popular film and TV actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal lost his life battling Covid-19 on Saturday. The demise of the 52 year old actor has left many of his colleagues and friends in the industry mourning. Actress and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt recently took to social media to write a long note about how she met the actor and shared pictures from a photo album which the late actor had gifted her after their first collaboration Paap.

In her note Pooja wrote how Major Bikramjeet came to see her at her office without an appointment at her office in Khar in 2002. Not only did he meet her but also left there with a role in her upcoming film Paap which marked his debut in Bollywood.

Pooja recalled their first meeting and wrote: “He had come in without an appointment & it so happened that I was in the garden feeding my fish when I turned and locked eyes with the most earnest looking person I had met in a while. He introduced himself as an ex-army officer who now wants to be an actor. “Why?” Was my immediate response. “It’s a chaotic world in comparison to the army.” He looked at me with the most beseeching, gentle eyes “It’s my dream Mam” he said. I melted. And cast him on the spot for my film PAAP without so much as an audition.”

Reacting to the news of his sudden demise, the Pooja said, “I was stunned, yet my mind went back to our schedule in Spiti & I stumbled to a large trunk and pulled out a gift he gave me at the end of the film- a painstakingly put together photo album of the trip... memories to cherish forever.”

The many pictures from the album put together by Bikramjeet showcase all the behind the scenes hardwork and good times the team of Paap put into making the film with little notes. “Today I flip through the album with gratitude & yet another reminder that life is precious and way too short.. Salutations Major Bikramjeet and thank you for the camaraderie, love ,respect & especially the memories. I shall hold onto them until I become a memory in someone’s head and heart myself,” Pooja concluded.
