Blind: Sujoy Ghosh Talks About Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s Prep For The Role; Says ‘She Has Worked Hard’

One of the most popular actresses of Bollywood, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja was recently seen in Vikramaditya Motwane’s black comedy thriller AK vs AK, in which she played a fictionalized version of herself. Well, the beauty is now in Glasgow, Scotland, where she is shooting for her next project titled Blind. Directed by Shome Makhija and co-produced by Sujoy Ghosh, the crime thriller is a remake of a South Korean film which follows the story of a blind police officer who is searching for a serial killer.

In a recent chat with Bollywood Life, Ghosh revealed that Sonam wasn’t cast in the film because of her past performances. He explained, “The worst thing you can do is to cast an actor based on their previous performance. Nobody's past work matters. Every film has different demands from its cast and crew. That I had seen her in 'Veere Di Wedding', 'Khoobsurat', 'Neerja' and 'Delhi-6' is a different story, and of course, she was good in all four.”

Talking about her prep, he shared, “It's a challenging role but Sonam is doing it well; Shome has been working with her diligently. She has worked hard with a coach hired by us, to understand the nuances of playing blind.” Well, we are super excited to see Sonam in such a different character!
