Bobby Deol Reveals Why People Called Him ‘Behenji’ On The Phone When He Was Younger

The handsome Bobby Deol has been winning hearts with his spectacular performances in his last few releases. May it be his comic side in Housefull 4 or the deadly hero policeman character from Class of '83-- he has left the audience in awe time and again. However, it was his versatility in Prakash Jha’s Aashram that stole the show. The way he portrayed the role of a conman disguised as Baba Nirala is absolutely commendable, especially because we never expected to see Bobby in such a character.

Well, in a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, busy bee Bobby decided to take a walk down memory lane and shared a funny story from his childhood. He revealed, “When I was a kid, meri awaaz bahot patli thi (my voice was rather thin and reedy). Obviously, as you grow older and mature, your voice changes. But at that time whenever I would pick up the phone at home, people would presume I was a girl. They’d ask ‘Behenji, Dharamji hain ghar par?’”

While he initially got irritated, he found a way to have some fun with this situation. Bobby shared, “In hotels, you know, you can dial room numbers and can just talk. I used to call up people randomly, or if someone called, I’d just talk as if I was a lady, just to have some fun… bachpan ke dinn thhe woh (those were the days of my childhood).”
