Bobby Deol is keeping his second innings in Bollywood very versatile. Playing a police officer from the 80’s in Shah Rukh Khan produced Class of 83 and playing a godman in an upcoming MX player web series Aashram, the actor is all set to take over the OTT space.

Speaking about his return to movies and the ongoing debate about nepotism Bobby explained how having a filmy background doesn’t help actors survive in the industry. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama he recalled a phase where he was not getting work and it demoralized him to the point of self pity and her resorted to alcoholism.

He told the portal, “When you pity yourself, you will start cursing the world around you. That is what happened with me for two-three years. I started pitying myself and though that no one wants to work with me so I relied on alcohol. I started numbing myself and then one day I realized where I was wrong when I saw it in my kids’ eyes that our father stays home all day long. I saw the same emotion in my mother and wife’s eyes too, so something in me changed and I realized that if I want to move forward, I cannot wait for someone else to do it, I will have to walk myself. That is when I started working on myself and I have been so busy in the last two-three years.”

Bobby further said that he has not landed a film with Shah Rukh’s banner because of their friendship while also mentioning that stars like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh also struggle daily to get the kind of work they want to do.
