Bollywood Stars Who Lost Sleep Over People Calling Them Aunty, Uncle, Or Bhabhi
Bollywood Stars Who Hate Being Called Aunty
Being a Bollywood star is stressful and there is no doubt about that. From chasing box-office numbers to constantly looking paparazzi ready is something that can give people sleepless nights and even put them in a bad mood. But, things become confusing when they lose their cool over matters which are so petty that they are hilarious.
Do you remember the first time someone called you 'aunty' or 'uncle'. That feeling of suddenly feeling like you are ancient creeps up and it's real. While most of us brush past it, turns out our Bollywood peeps are not immune to this reality check. These are a few Bollywood stars who got sleepless nights over people calling them aunty, uncle, or even bhabhi.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Remember the time when Sonam and Aishwarya became mortal enemies. While both of them being Loreal's brand ambassadors might have had something to do with it, the real feud occurred when Sonam called Aish 'aunty'. Later, she clarified that it was not meant as an insult but she has been her father's heroine and thus calling her aunty came naturally to her. Well, hard to argue with that logic.
Kareena Kapoor
She will always be the bona fide diva that she is and looks like it affects her badly when her diva image is challenged. Recently, some netizens called her 'aunty' and it looked like it really got under her skin.
Deepika Padukone
Our thrills levels have been pathologically high ever since we have heard about Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal playing brother Dara Shukoh and Aurangzeb in Karan Johar's Takht. We do not know if Vicky was practicing method acting but in a recent award show his 'bhaichaara' with Ranveer touched new heights when he started calling Deepika 'bhabhi'. However, Deepika was less than thrilled and got really uncomfortable as Vicky continued teasing her by calling her 'bhabhi'. Since when has 'bhabhi' become uncomfortable?
Salman Khan
Believe it or not, but Salman actually threatened Varun Dhawan when he called him uncle. Varun revealed, "I went for trial (show of Judwaa) and I called him ‘Salman uncle’. He got very upset. He told me ‘I will slap you if you call me that, call me Salman bhai. I don’t care if you are David Dhawan’s son I won’t allow you inside theatre if you call me uncle’." Well, easy there Tiger! Weren't we taught to call our father's friends uncle?
Special Mention: Shah Rukh Khan
Well, it is not really Shah Rukh Khan who could not take being called 'uncle'. It is actually his loyal fans who made life difficult for Sara after she was seen addressing Shah Rukh as uncle. Yeah, it was really fans taking offense on behalf of Shah Rukh Khan.
