Bollywood's Big Five In January 2020: Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak To Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior

Bollywood has just wrapped up an exciting year with 2019 which gave the industry as many as 17 Rs.100 crores hits and now with 2020 already here the excitement is about to climb the charts once more. The year promises some big budget releases including Radhe, Sooryavanshi, Laal Singh Chadha, Bramhastra, Shamshera and others.

In just January, Bollywood has lined up as many as five big releases with two mega clashes. Plan your calendars in advance as you might not want to miss out on any of these big-ticket films of the month.

Chhapaak – Deepika Padukone’s return to the big screen after nearly a two years gap post-Padmaavat, Chhapaak is also the actress’s first production venture. The film is based on the story of an acid attack survivor and inspired from the life of Laxmi Aggarwal. Helmed by Meghna Gulzar the film is much anticipated after the gripping trailer that was launched in December.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior - Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan reunite after Omkara for a historical drama on the life of Tanhaji Malusare who was Chatrapati Shivaji’s closest aid on the battlefield. Saif plays the villain while in the titular role is Ajay Devgn with Kajol playing his wife. The big-budget drama will the first film in a franchise on Unsung Warriors.

Street Dancer 3D – In sync with Remo D’Souza’s previous two dance films ABCD and ABCD 2, Street Dancer 3D stars Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. The film promises a dance battle with Indian, Pakistan rivalry in the backdrop also dealing with the issue of immigrants from these two countries in England.

Panga – Kangana Ranaut is again aiming for a January hit like Manikarnika last year. This time she will be seen playing a mother who is training hard to find her spot back on the national kabaddi team. The film is helmed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari and also stars Jassie Gill.

Jawaani Janeman – Saif Ali Khan’s second movie of the month will mark the debut of Aliya F and also stars Tabu. The promo of the film that has dropped in shows Saif in the role of a middle-aged playboy who refuses to settle down.
