Bombay HC Reserves Bail Plea Verdict Of Rhea And Showik Chakraborty, NCB Says ‘This Should Serve As A Lesson To All '

After Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty filed a bail application in the Bombay High Court, an affidavit was filed by the Narcotics Control Bureau opposing their bail plea. The NCB told the HC that Rhea and Showik were 'active members of a drug syndicate that was connected with high society personalities and drug suppliers.'

The NCB also stated that the duo had "abetted and financed" drug transactions. And therefore, the agency booked them under stringent section 27A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Acts

And now the latest in the case is that Bombay High Court, after hearing the arguments from the NCB and Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde has reserved its verdict on the bail plea of the siblings. For more than three weeks as of now, Rhea is in Byculla jail and Showik is in Taloja Central jail.
