BREAKING: Celina Jaitly To Dance With Transgender Shree Ghatak In Upcoming Music Video ‘Sajani Sajani’ For Her Comeback Film

For the first time, any Bollywood actor will be seen dancing with a transgender actor on screen. Actor Celina Jaitly will be seen performing Sajani Sajani Radhikalo, a song originally composed by national poet Rabindranath Tagore in the Maithili language with transgender actor Shree Ghatak. 

The song is a part of Ram Kamal Mukherjee's critically acclaimed film Season's Greetings, used as a leitmotif in the movie. In a special video, Celina will be seen with transgender actor Shree Ghatak performing on the track on the eve of 159th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The song has been rearranged by Shailendra Kumar, the music director and co-producer of the film. Kolkata based visually challenged vocalist Sayani Palit makes her singing debut in Bollywood with this track. 

9th May marks the159th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, and the makers of the film are planning to release a special video of Celina performing on the song. When we exclusively got in touch with Celina, she told us "I have a secret to share. Since the last two weeks, I have been hearing this song on my music system in Austria, and my son Arthur is completely hooked on to it. Being a German boy, he loves music. And he would refuse to sleep unless I sing the song as a lullaby for him." 

She also told us, she will be recording the hook step of the song share it as a social media challenge for her fans. The dance has been choreographed by Manisha Basu. When we spoke to the director Ram Kamal Mukherjee decided to make Seasons Greetings, he told us, “I was sure, I will use two of Bhanusingher Padabali in my film because it was never used in mainstream Bollywood movies and many are not aware of the impact of these poems and the inner meaning of the songs.” 

He further went on to say, "We can call it a mashup version because we have merged two Tagore songs in one. The basic track of Sajani Sajani merges with Bengali song Shokhi Bhabona, to create a cinematic layer in the narrative." The film is currently streaming on Zee5 Premium.
