Chehre: Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi’s mystery thriller to release by August; deets inside

Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi’s Chehre is undoubtedly one of the most talked about Bollywood films of the year. Directed by Rumi Jafry, the mystery thriller was meant to hit theatres last year. However, the makers decided to push the release date due to the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. The film got a new release date but it was postponed yet again. Well, makers are now eyeing a big screen premiere in August.

In a report shared by Mid Day, producer Anand Pandit was quoted saying, “I’m confident that we’ll be able to release the film latest by August. We don’t have a promotional plan yet. Multi-city tours are out of the question, and social media promotional activities have become the new norm. We hope that with the population getting steadily vaccinated, people may feel confident about going to theatres.” He went on to add that once a significant number of theatres are functional, other films will also line up for release.

Chehre made headlines when the teaser and posters didn’t feature Big B and Emraan’s co-star Rhea Chakraborty, who plays a pivotal role in the film. However, fans got to see a glimpse of the actress in the trailer and Anand confirmed that she is very much a part of the film.
