Chehre Director Rumi Jaffery Is Confident Rhea Chakraborty Will Bounce Back, Opens Up About The Project With Sushant Singh Rajput And Her

Rumi Jaffery is one of those people who had been close to both Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty. After Sushant's death, he had opened up about how Rhea had cared for him and also revealed that he had been thinking about making a film with the duo in the lead. He has already worked with Rhea in Chehre, which stars Emraan Hashmi and Amitabh Bachchan, and the film is slated to release this year. Now, he has also talked about what his plans are about the film that was to have Sushant-Rhea.

Talking to Mid Day, he spoke about how Rhea deserved a fair trial and that he has the highest regards for those who spoke in her favour. He said, "I am confident she will get through this phase. Everybody around will advise you to be brave, but only the one going through [the ordeal] knows how difficult it is. Time is the best healer; with time, she will be fine. She is a talented artist and will be ready to bounce back. People drew their own conclusions on the matter. Ideally, we should wait for the judiciary [to give its verdict]. Every coin has two sides, but Rhea should also get a fair trial. I have the highest regard for those who supported her then."

Talking about the project that was to have Sushant and Rhea together, he said, "We were supposed to start the film by mid-2020. The year was so terrible that I am not thinking of the film anymore."

Rumi Jaffery had earlier also opened up about how traumatised Rhea has been because of the ordeal she was put through after Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Recently, she and brother Showik were spotted house-hunting in Bandra.
