Chehre Producer On Keeping Rhea Chakraborty Away From Promotions: Don’t Want To Take Undue Advantage Of Her Situation

Rhea Chakraborty is slowly but steadily returning to her normalcy after all the tumultuous events that followed her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. After a controversy filed 2020, Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre was supposed to be the first project featuring her. Her absence from the film’s promotions and teaser earlier this year, however, led to a lot of chaos on social media.

The makers of Chehre were called out for disassociating her from the project and speculations so far as to wonder if her scenes in the film were chopped off due to all the controversy. Chehre’s producer Anand Pandit has now commented on why the actress was kept away from the promotions and he has claimed that they did not wish to take advantage of her vulnerable situation for commercial benefit.

Talking to Indian Express Anand Pandit said, “I don’t see any reason for not mentioning her name. She is among the eight artistes in the film. We signed her much earlier and she completed her part satisfactorily. So, we are looking at her as one of the actors who’s done a good job. Also, I don’t want to take undue advantage of her situation for the commercial benefit of my film. That’s why we decided that for the second poster, we won’t mention her name. She’s gone through enough turmoil in her life, and we didn’t want to add more ripples. We got her into the picture, only when she was comfortable.”

People finally got to see a glimpse of the actress in the trailer of the film which was released in March. Chehre was lined up to release in April but had to be pushed back like many other films due to raising Covid-19 cases.

The makers are now looking at all their options including considering an OTT release for the project.
