Chhapaak Day 1 Box-Office: Deepika Padukone Starrer Film On Acid Attack Victims Mint Just 4.77 Crores INR!

The box-office collection of Meghna Gulzar’s film, Chhapaak, starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey is here. The film, which is based on acid attacks and has been modelled around the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, has made an average collection on Day 1.

Chhapaak has collected just 4.77 crores INR on Friday, i.e., on Day 1. The film has performed in just a few multiplexes around the country. The film could register well only in the metros and tier 1 cities. In Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, the masses seem to have given it a miss.

Chhapaak needs to go up on the business on the weekend to register a good box-office. The film is mid-budget and therefore it shouldn’t be compared to Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’s collection, which also got almost the double the screens. While Chhapaak has been made tax-free in a number of states, there are many people who have decided to boycott the film after the lead actress, Deepika Padukone, joined the protest at Jawaharlal Nehru University. It is only with the weekend collection that Chhapaak’s lifetime collection can be assessed.
