Chunky Panday Reveals He & Wife Bhavana Haven't Said 'I Love You' To Each Other Even After 23 Years Of Marriage; Read Why

Actor Chunky Panday and his wife Bhanva have quite a filmy love story as narrated by the actor himself. But while most love stories have a monumental ‘I love you’ moment, in this real life love story it is starkly absent confessed Chunky.

The actor in a recent interview while speaking about how he met his wife, revealed that he and Bhavna have never really said those three magical words to each other. Chunky saw Bhavna in a discotheque in Delhi after he missed his flight back to Mumbai 25 years ago. He felt a connection and even got her number but on finally calling he learnt she’s left for London for good.

Real plot twist right? Well, sometime later Chunky learned Bhavana was in Mumbai and called her up at the hotel. They hung out a lot together, there was also a Michael Jackson concert involved and she visited him on the sets of his film with some friends, he reveals in a chat with The Free Press Journal.

All this led to a first date and their relationship grew, with Chunky flying out to Delhi frequently to see her instead of getting exorbitant phone bills. “I would sleep for four hours and speak to her for 20. In those days, calls on STD and ISD were very expensive. Also, I kept flying to Delhi to meet her. So, one day, I told her, ‘This is too expensive a relationship. Let's try to cut costs down and live in the same town and maybe, get married.’ And I proposed to her,” he recalled talking about their long-distance romance.

On being asked who said ‘I love you’ first, the Housefull actor responded, “We still haven’t said ‘I love you’ to each other till now because it's understood that we love each other.”

Chunky, however, did have a moment of realizing that he couldn’t live without Bhavana and proposed to her. “I was shooting in Sikkim and she was on a long flight to Germany and the realisation hit me: ‘God I can't live without this girl.’ When she came back from her trip, I flew to Delhi and took her out to Bukhara, a restaurant in the Maurya hotel, and proposed to her. She instantly said, ‘Yes.’”

Chunky and Bhavana have been married for 23 years now.
