CINTAA Should Come Up With Stricter Laws: Adhvik Mahajan, Mona Singh On Non-Payment Of Dues

The coronavirus lockdown has really impacted Bollywood and the television industry in a very negative manner.

Things have gone downhill with the shoots being stalled and things not being on track for more than 3 months! Because of this many TV actors are also not being paid. Some newcomers who had come into the industry from far-flung places have gone back while some have even resorted to taking their own lives due to desperation.

Actors like Adhvik Mahajan, Mona Singh have spoken about how the producers are not clearing the dues of the actors. In an interaction with Zooom Digital, Adhvik Mahajan stated that he has seen all of these things happen. He has been quoted by the portal as saying, "I have seen these things happen. With my first show itself, I had suffered a lot of financial trouble from the producers' end. A big controversy had happened back then. With my two actresses of the show, we had taken an action against our producers. We went to the channel, abided by all the rules and regulations. We fought for our rights."

The Tamas actor has been further quoted as saying, "So, I stood against my producers, and the channel supported me. They got us our payments through the producers. This problem happened a couple of times, but every time I fought for my payment. I know how that feels. In the market, people give payments after four months. It is very unfortunate that people are suffering now. I even messaged a few people if they needed any help financially."

Mona Singh who was recently seen in Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain felt that CINTAA should come up with stricter laws. The actress says, "These are tough times. It is really unfortunate that producers turn their back towards actors and not pay them, clear their dues. It is very frustrating and embarrassing for actors to keep asking for their own money. I honestly feel CINTAA should come up with stricter laws and not have this 90-day cycle where actors get money only after 90 days of the shoot. When you're a professional and are on a shoot, your producers expect you to give 100 percent, so they should be also paying on time.”
