    Famous classical singer, SP Balasubrahmanyam is no more between us. He passed away this afternoon at the age of 74 years. He was in an extremely critical condition after contracting COVID-19 and he lost the battle of life. His son confirmed the news.

    Talking to reporters present at the MGM Hospital, where the singer was admitted, his son SP Charan said, “SPB belongs to everyone. He will live on in his songs. My dad passed away at 1.04 pm.”

    Earlier, the hospital released a statement that the singer was extremely critical. The statement read, "Thiru S P Balasubrahmanyam, who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare on August 5th, remains on ECMO and other life support measures. His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further, warranting maximal life support, and he is extremely critical. The team of experts at MGM Healthcare are closely monitoring his health condition.”
