Coolie No. 1: Sara Ali Khan Had Not Dared To Copy Or Fill In Karisma Kapoor's Shoes But Wants To Bring Something Of Her Own

Starring in a remake is a dicey thing to do. While the prospect and the script of the film might definitely be alluring, one can never completely avoid comparisons with the original. Yet, the number of remakes being made isn't going down. When Sara Ali Khan was asked about why she chose to sign Coolie No. 1, which is a remake of the original, she had an interesting answer.

Talking to Bollywood Hungama, the actress said that she isn't trying to copy Karisma in any way. She said, "One is not trying to copy Karisma ma'am or trying to fill her shoes or anything like that because she is an institution in herself. While she is extremely inspiring, I wouldn't dare to try to ape her because I wouldn't be able to do so even if I tried very hard. So the only attempt here is to bring something of my own into this film. For me, it wasn't as much about following in her footsteps as much as it was about performing under David sir's guidance, chemistry with Varun, and things like that."

She also added that she wants to be part of different genres of films in her career and Coolie No. 1 gave her an opportunity to be a part of a comedy, that too directed by David Dhawan. Well, that's a choice that is tough too pass, isn't it? The film would release on 25th December on Amazon Prime.
