COVID-19: Anurag Kashyap Has An Interesting Reaction To PM Modi’s 21-Day Long National Lockdown Announcement

The positive cases of novel coronavirus are escalating at an incredible rate in our country and to help stop the spread of this pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a 21-day long national lockdown starting 12 am on 25^th March. He made the announcement at 8 pm yesterday and many Bollywood celebs such as Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor praised the decision and also urged their fans to stay home and observe social-distancing.

On the other hand, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap questioned the timing of the declaration. He took to his social media handle to share that this announcement could have been made at 8am in the morning instead of 8pm in the evening. Kashyap went on to add that PM Modi always makes announcements at 8pm and gives the citizens only 4 hours to wrap up everything. However, he went on to thank the Prime Minister in another post, re-tweeting the message which asked citizens not to panic as essential commodities, medicines etc will still be available.

Well, Anurag Kashyap’s followers had mixed reactions to his post. While one supported his suggestion and joked: “PM should be renamed as 8 PM”, another user wrote: “Please keep your hatred aside and behave like a responsible citizen at this moment. He said very clearly "essentials will be available", don't spread rumours. People follow you. Be responsible.”
