COVID-19: Netizens Call Sonam Kapoor Ahuja ‘Dumb’ After She Defends Kanika Kapoor; Take A Look

Baby Doll singer Kanika Kapoor, who became the first Bollywood celeb to be tested positive for novel coronavirus, has been facing a lot of backlash for being negligent and attending social gatherings after returning from her London trip. While most called her behavior ‘irresponsible’, actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja took a stand for the singer and defended her on social media. She wrote: “Hey guys @TheKanikakapoor came back on the 9th. India was not self isolating but playing Holi”.

Every individual is entitled to their personal opinion, but this post did not go down well with netizens. Many users trolled Sonam and called her dumb. One troll wrote: “On a scale of 1 - 100 how dumb is Sonam Kapoor? To the power (infinity). Hence proved. I rest my case. Does she know everyone entering India post Coronavirus outbreak outside were screened/advised to self quarantine? How dumb could she more be?” Some others even shared memes to express their disappointment with the actress.

Kanika Kapoor arrived in Lucknow on 11^th March after a trip to London and authorities asked her to quarantine herself for a period of 14 days to avoid any risks. However, she ignored the instructions according to reports and attended many social gatherings. Over a week later, she took to her social media handle to announce that she has been tested positive for coronavirus. The Lucknow police have now booked her on charges of negligence.
