Darlings: Vijay Varma Calls Alia Bhatt ‘Phenomenal’; Reveals She Recommended His Name For Shah Rukh Khan’s Film

Time and again, Vijay Varma has proven that he is an incredibly versatile actor who can beautifully mould himself to play any character. May it be Moeen from Gully Boy, Rasheed in A Suitable Boy or Saajan Kundu in OK Computer, he has managed to win our hearts each time. Well, the actor is all set to blow us away once again with his next and much awaited project, titled Darlings. Vijay will be reuniting with his Gully Boy co-star Alia Bhatt for this dark comedy, who has also co-produced the project under her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions along with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.

In a recent chat with BT, Vijay revealed that Alia recommended him for the film. He shared, “The project came to me last year during the lockdown. I heard from Alia’s manager that they have a script, and they wanted me to look into it. I found it fascinating. Honestly, I am thankful to Alia as I got introduced to the project through her. It is a dark comedy, and I am excited to be a part of the genre. It feels surreal to be associated with Shah Rukh Khan for this project. I absolutely admire Alia as an actor. She is phenomenal. Being able to do a film with her of such a nature will be quite interesting.”

Well, fans are super excited to see Vijay and Alia together in this much awaited dark comedy. Also starring Shefali Shah and Roshan Mathew, Darlings is being directed by Jasmeet K Reen.
