Deepika Padukone Broke Down While Giving Her First Shot For Chhapaak, The Biopic Of Acid Attack Survivor Laxmi Agarwal

Deepika Padukone has taken on the challenging task of bringing the story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal on screen in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak and it has certainly not been easy on the actress reliving the story for the movie. As per reports from the sets of Chhapaak, Deepika broke down on the first day of shoot.

 The film is halfway done and several stills and clips from the shoot have made their way online where we have seen DP shoot in Delhi with Vikrant Massey. The film is an emotional journey and according to a source quoted by Bollywoodlife, Deepika teared up while giving her first shot as Laxmi Agarwal. The source quipped, “The project is an emotional roller-coaster for Deepika. She broke down on the first day of the shoot. It happened when she was shooting for the first scene and having discussions with the filmmaker. However, Deepika was quick to regain her composure and the shoot proceeded nicely."

Deepika shared her first look from Chhapaak on Instagram in March and she looked unrecognizable as Laxmi. The actress was seen in Padmaavat last year which was huge on the box office earning over 300 crores, while director Meghna Gulzar delivered a moving spy thriller with Raazi starring Alia Bhatt which went on to make over 100 crores at the box office. When these two powerhouse performers come together for Chhapaak we know that it’s going to be epic and we don’t expect any less from this one. Chhapaak releases in theatres on January 10, 2020.
