Deepika Padukone Responds To Pregnancy Rumours: I Will Ask You When I Plan A Family

It might just have been a little over a year since Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone tied the knot, but the rumours of pregnancy were quick to follow soon after the wedding. The question was quick to follow Deepika Padukone everywhere she went and the actress has been defusing the rumours since.

Another promotional event for Chhapaak was no different. A journalist asked Deepika about the rumours and if she was pregnant and a very amused Deepika was quick to retort, "Do I look pregnant? I will ask you when I will plan (to have a family). If you give me permission then I will plan. If I become pregnant then you will see that in nine months.”

The pregnancy rumours were fueled by post shared by Ranveer Singh on Instagram where he shared a picture of Deepika was a baby filter and Deepika wrote on the post, ‘Hi Daddie’. The comment was taken to be a subtle hint at her being pregnant.

The actress had later in an interview with Hindustan Times also clarified that while both Ranveer and she love kids, starting a family is not on the horizon for them anytime soon as they are selfishly focusing on their careers.

Deepika who turned 34 on 5 January, celebrated her birthday with Ranveer Singh, Laxmi Agarwal and other acid attack survivors in Lucknow. Her film Chhapaak releases in theatres on 10 January.
