Deepika Padukone is one of the finest actresses in Bollywood. Despite being the highest-paid actress in the film industry and winning so many awards for her splendid performances in the films, the Padmavat actress has revealed that she didn’t watch many films during her childhood.

In a recent interview with Vogue, Deepika talked about how her journey started in the film industry. She said, “I had no training, no mentors. I worked it all out on my own. Sure, I had some failures, personal and professional. But sheer determination fuelled me. It was empowering.”

The actress shares what inspired her to work in films. She reveals, “As a family, we saw maybe two films a year. I don’t know why. But whenever I watched a movie, I knew that one day I’d be doing this. I’d start with modeling, then go into films. And that’s exactly how it happened.”

When Deepika was asked about how she reacts to the compliments she receives, the actress said,  “When I’m complimented for my work, but you know what’s most rewarding for me? When people tell me I haven’t changed. That I am still myself.”

On the professional front, Deepika is currently in London with husband Ranveer Singh, shooting for the latter’s upcoming film ‘83. The movie is about India’s memorable win at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Ranveer will play the character of the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev and Deepika will play his wife Romi. It will be the couple’s first movie together post their wedding. Deepika is also preparing for her upcoming release Chhapak which is set to release next year on 10th January 2020.
