Deepika Padukone To Co-Produce This Film With Karan Johar’s Dharma

It was just the day before that during the launch of the Good Newwz trailer Karan Johar harped on the issue of pay parity amongst the women in Bollywood. He also announced that one of the leading actresses would now be sharing the title of a co-producer in his production house.

And now, if media reports are to be believed, the A-lister actress in question here is the one and the only Deepika Padukone.

Well, it was during the Jio MAMI Movie Mela that Deepika announced that she would be part of Shakun Batra’s next opposite Siddhanth Chaturvedi. Deepika said, “‘I have found a film that I am likely to do early next year but it’s not light. It’s still a messy romance, it’s quite dark but still in the romantic space,”

And now we hear that after a few discussions, Karan was able to prevail on Deepika and she agreed to come on board as the co-producer of the film.

Having said that, this is not the first film that she would be producing, Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapak that has her playing the role of an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal has also been co-produced by her.
