Deepika Padukone To Romance ‘83 Co-Star Dhairya Karwa In Shakun Batra’s Next, Not Siddhant Chaturvedi; Deets Inside

After winning hearts with her spectacular performance in Chhapaak, the glamorous and super talented Deepika Padukone is all set to shine on the big screen once again with the much-awaited sports drama ‘83. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film also stars Ranveer Singh and follows the story of how Kapil Dev became the captain of the Indian national cricket team that won the 1983 World Cup. Much to our delight, soon after ‘83 Deepika will begin prepping for Shakun Batra’s next.

As reported earlier, the as-yet untitled romantic drama will also feature Gully Boy star Siddhant Chaturvedi and the beautiful Ananya Panday. Well, we have some pretty exciting news for fans! A report in Spotboye reveals that another actor has joined Shakun Batra’s team and it is none other than Dhairya Karwa, who is playing the role of Ravi Shastri in ‘83. While he does not have any scenes with Deepika in Kabir Khan’s film, Dhairya will be romancing the actress in the romantic drama.

In the same report, a source was quoted saying, “The film concept is a complicated love story and hence, the casting and unusual jodi. It is believed to be a relationship drama where the characters find themselves stuck in a morally ambiguous zone.”
