Deepika Padukone’s Character In Pathan To Be On The Lines Of Katrina Kaif’s Zoya In Tiger Franchise?

After a two year hiatus, Bollywood’s King Shah Rukh Khan is all set to return to the big screen with a bang. In fact just last week, he began shooting for War director Siddharth Anand’s upcoming project Pathan at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. Also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, the film is an action entertainer. Well, the superstar was joined by his leading lady on the sets yesterday. However, sources suggest that it’s only for a couple of days because Deepika is also juggling Shakun Batra’s next.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actress will join SRK again in December and the shooting of Pathan will go on till June 2021. But what character is Deepika playing in the film? Much to our delight, a source close to the development revealed, “It's an intriguing world of agents and Deepika will get to do a lot of action too. Though the title is SRK-centric, Deepika plays an edgy character, who joins Pathan on a mission. It's on the lines of what Katrina Kaif's Zoya was to Salman Khan's Tiger in the Tiger franchise.”

Now that sounds very interesting because Zoya is one of Katrina’s most adored characters ever! We are super excited to see Deepika’s agent look and are eagerly waiting to watch her in action. John, who will be portraying the role of the antagonist in Pathan, is expected to join his co-stars in January 2021.
