Deepika Padukone's Father Prakash Padukone Hospitalised After Contracting Covid-19, Her Mother & Sister Also Positive

Deepika Padukone’s father and legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone has been admitted to the hospital in his hometown Bengaluru after testing positive for Covid-19. Deepika’s mother Ujjala Padukone and sister Anisha are also positive and are currently in-home quarantine.

According to reports the Padukone family had isolated themselves after they developed symptoms of the deadly disease. On getting tested their reports came back positive.

"Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive," Vimal Kumar, a close friend and director at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA), informs PTI.

According to the source Prakash Padukone’s fever wasn’t coming down even after a week and was then taken to the hospital. The Badminton legend is now stable and is likely to be discharged from the hospital in 2 – 3 days.

Deepika in the meantime also joined the crusade against Covid-19 like many other Bollywood celebrities and shared helpline numbers to promote mental wellbeing in these distressing times. Deepika who began The Live Love Laugh Foundation some years ago to stress on the importance of mental health has been offering support through the organization as the country sees the worst phase of the pandemic.
