Dhamaka: Story Of The Kartik Aaryan Starrer Was Written With Taapsee Pannu In Mind, Rahul Dhokalia Was To Direct?

Ram Madhvani's Dhamaka is one such film that audiences are waiting to see. The film would see Kartik Aaryan in a brand new avatar, and in this film, he would not play the romantic hero for the first time in his career. This film would also mark his first collaboration with the Neerja director. But did you know that the film was actually to be directed by Rahul Dholakia and was written with Taapsee Pannu in mind?

It is known to us all that Kriti Sanon had been offered the lead of the film, but she turned it down. After this, the story was re-written from female-centric to male-centric and Kartik grabbed the opportunity when the makers approached him for this one. But, if a report in Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, then Taapsee was the first choice to play the lead. A source informed, "Originally Dhamaka was to be a female-centric film with the lead female playing the central protagonist. Keeping the concept in mind the venture was offered to Taapsee Pannu, but the actress turned down the project.” It was then that the project was taken to Kriti.

After she walked out, Rahul Dholakia got busy with other projects and Azure Entertainment, who was to produce the film, sold the rights to Ramm Madhvani. The source added, "In the meantime, Madhvani decided to go ahead with the film in association with RSVP, and went in for a re-write converting the film from a female-centric protagonist to a male-centric one”

Well, we are yet to see how the film would finally turn out to be. It is being said that Dhamaka will be the official remake of the Korean film, Terror Live.
