Dhanush To Play The Role Of Rajinikanth In The Darbar Actor's Biopic? Here's What You Need To Know

South Superstar Dhanush is gearing up for his next exciting project, his upcoming film would be a biopic based on the life of the Thaliavar, Rajinikanth. In the film, The actor would portray the role of south superstar Rajinikanth.

As per a report by Indulge Express, the film will be directed by veteran filmmaker Lingusamy who has previously helmed films including “Run”, “Paiyaa”, and “Vettai” and many more. For the uninitiated, Dhanush is the son-in-law of actor Rajinikanth.

Despite achieving great success, Superstar Rajinikanth prefers to stay grounded, the Sivaji actor revealed how he manages to stay so down to earth. He says, "Once you've acted, it's finished, I forget Rajinikanth. I go back to Shivaji Rao. That's just work life for me. When somebody reminds me 'you are Rajinikanth' then I'll be like, oh yes! I am Rajinikanth," he said.

"My whole life has been a miracle. It's a miracle! Even consider this show, for example, I never thought of this, not even in my dreams that one day I will do a show like this," Rajinikanth added.

Dhanush will begin working on the film after wrapping up his Akshay Kumar starrer "Atrangi Re", directed by "Raanjhanaa" maker Anand L. Rai. Apart from Dhanush The film also features Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan in pivotal roles.

On the other hand, Rajnikanth’s new film "Annaatthe" will release on Pongal 2021. The film was initially scheduled to release in mid-2020. However, shooting came to a still,  owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. Right now, the schedule for the shooting hasn’t been decided yet.
