    Dia Mirza Is Astonished To Have Worked With Only Two Female Directors In Her Career

    Dia Mirza has completed over 15 years as an actress and producer in Bollywood and looking back at her long career the Sanju actress was astonished to realize that she has worked with only two female producers. The realization sure comes with the understanding that there were very few female filmmakers when she started out.

    In 2007 she starred in Reema Kagti directed Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. and now, years later she is working under the direction of Sonam Nair in the web series titled Kaafir. Dia also feels a lot has changed in the industry in the past few years. According to her, she feels the happiest when she sees women succeed in any field and claps the loudest at the success and achievements of each and every woman. After production and acting Dia has thought about getting into directing films she and is fairly excited about the prospects.

    According to her once she has the story in her mind and has certain clarity she will get there. Dia is also foraying in the digital world as a producer. Dia and her husband Sahil Sangha who run the banner Born Free Entertainment have produced the upcoming web show Mind The Malhotras in collaboration with Applause Entertainment.


    Before her web show, Dia is credited as a producer for films like Love Breakup Zindagi and Bobby Jasoos.

    Talking about working in a web series as an actress, she says she found it different from acting in a film. According to her web gives more exposure to the actors in terms of time one can invest the character. 

    Web seems novel to her and since deep character research is important for being in a web medium she asserted it is a boon for actors.

    Dia was not only a teenager when she won Miss Asia Pacific in the year 2000, she later rose to fame in Bollywood with Rehna Hai Tere Dill Mein. She has not only worked as an actor but invested herself into philanthropy. She has proven to be a great UN Goodwill Ambassador for the environment since 2017 and has also recently appointed as the UN Secretary-General as an advocate of sustainable development goals
