    Dia Mirza Denies Drug Allegations, Says, 'I Have Never Procured Or Consumed Any Narcotic Or Contraband Substance'

    Dia Mirza has finally reacted after her name came up in the Narcotics Control Bureau’s probe into Bollywood’s alleged drug nexus. She claims that the news is ‘baseless with mala fide intentions’, it can not only affect her reputation but can 'cause damage to her career’. The actress added that she has never procured or consumed any drugs and will take legal a resort on this matter.

    “I would like to strongly refute and categorically deny this news as being false, baseless, and with mala fide intentions. Such frivolous reporting has a direct impact on my reputation being besmirched and is causing damage to my career which I have painstakingly built with years of hard work. I have never procured or consumed any narcotics or contraband substances of any form in my life. I intend to pursue the full extent of legal remedies available to me as a law-abiding citizen of India. Thanks to my supporters for standing by me,” Dia said in a statement she shared on her social media handle.


    According to reports, on Monday names of Deepika Padukone and her talent manager, Karishma Prakash came up after Narcotics Control Bureau interrogated Jaya Saha regarding an alleged drug nexus. Now, NCB has actors Deepika Padukone Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and designer Simone Khambatta under the radar.

    Bollywood’s alleged drug connection has cropped up during an investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise. His girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, was arrested earlier this month for procuring drugs and is currently in Byculla jail.

    As per a report, NCB’s deputy director told Hindustan Times that Rhea took Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh’s name in her statement before she was arrested. Both the actresses will be summoned by the Anti- Narcotics Agency under Section 67 of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

    However, the context in which Sara and Rakul’s names were taken has not been cleared yet. The NCB’s deputy director said, “Their roles can’t be given right now,” Meanwhile, the names of more Bollywood celebrities’ have come up in the investigation, although there is no official confirmation regarding the same.
