As the second wave of coronavirus is upon us and most of us are locked away in our houses, the biggest source of entertainment are digital platforms and the exciting line up of films releasing on them. Well, one interesting movie that audiences are eagerly looking forward to is Sardar Ka Grandson, featuring Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Neena Gupta, John Abraham and Aditi Rao Hydari. It follows the story of a grandson who sets out to fulfill his grandmother’s wish-- to see her house in Lahore.

But did you know that Arjun wasn’t the first choice for this much awaited comedy drama? A report shared by Spotboye suggests that Vicky Kaushal was offered the role first, before it went to Arjun. A source was quoted saying, “The makers had first approached Vicky for the role. The actor had loved the script and felt it relatable.” But Vicky had to turn it down due to Takht. The source stated, “As Vicky had already kept his dates aside for Karan Johar's Takht, he was unable to allocate dates for Sardar Ka Grandson.”

Well, Arjun and Rakul recently collaborated for a music video titled Dil Hai Deewana after which they won hearts with Sardar Ka Grandson’s first song Jee Ni Karda. Seeing them together in these two tracks left fans even more excited for their film. However, we can’t help but wonder if Rakul and Vicky would have been able to create the same magic on-screen.
