    Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was laid to rest in Mumbai on the evening of July 7 after he passed away in the early hours of morning. The actor was 98 and according to reports was being treated for advanced prostate cancer. Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on June 30 again after few days of his discharge from the hospital before that. According to earlier reports the actor had episodes of breathlessness which is why he was brought in and admitted to the ICU.

    A report in Indian Express has a doctor from the claiming that the hospital claiming that cancer had spread to his other body parts and had suffered a kidney failure. He was apparently undergoing treatment for 3-4 months.

    According to the doctor, “He had water in the pleural cavity, and he suffered kidney failure. He required blood transfusion multiple times. We carried out the last transfusion but it did not help.”

    He also mentioned that Dilip Kumar was unresponsive in the last few days and suffered a drop in blood pressure and hemoglobin.

    Pulmonologist Dr Jalil Parkar who was one of the doctors treating Dilip Kumar had on the contrary said in a statement, “At the age of 98, every person has some problems or the other. We gave him all possible treatments and tried our best. There was an age constraint, due to which he died today at 7:30 am. He had shortness of breath."

    Dilip Kumar mortal remains were taken home from the hospital this morning where many celebrities from Bollywood dropped by to pay their last respect. At 5 PM the actor was laid to rest at the Juhu Qabrastan in Santacruz Mumbai.
