Diljit Dosanjh Is Happy With Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari’s Theatrical Release But Wonders ‘If People Would Take The Risk’

The lockdown was pretty tough for all of us but the country has now finally started unlocking slowly and steadily. Much to the delight of movie buffs, many theatres have also reopened and we can finally watch much-awaited films on the big screen. One of the first films to hit the silver screen post the lockdown is Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Manoj Bajpayee and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The satirical comedy drama released on 15th November amid the 50% occupancy theatrical guideline.

In a recent chat with Spotboye, Diljit opened up about the same and stated, “We are a movie-loving country. Lekin jaan zyada pyari hai (but we love life more than movies). I wonder if people would take the risk!” He went on to add that he didn’t know the film was going to release in theatres. Diljit shared, “We completed the shooting in March 2020 just before the lockdown. After that I was in the US. I came to know it was going to have a digital release when I suddenly heard about the theatrical release. I am very happy that our film is breaking the lockdown deadlock. Let’s see how it goes.”

Diljit went on to add that he had a great time working with the cast and also learnt a lot from Manoj Bajpayee. He further shared that he enjoys working in light-hearted comedy films but does not want to be typecast. We wonder if Diljit would ever like to play an out and out negative character. What do you think?
