Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has made his mark in both Bollywood and the Punjabi film industry based on his sheer perseverance and talent. The singer who is today adored by millions has now revealed that while starting out his only dream was to make music. Diljit who had no family or bonds in the entertainment business says there was a point in time he didn’t know how music will even earn him money.

"I was always told that without a godfather in the industry it would be difficult for me to make a mark, but I always believed that if I made constant efforts, I would be successful. It would definitely take time, but I would be rewarded for my hard work," the singer turned actor admitted in a recent podcast.

Talking about his love for films in his growing-up years he reminisced how he loved fight sequences and watched a ton of Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra movies. Apart from these mega stars his favorite was actor Rajinder Kumar.

However, Diljit’s motivations were only directed towards music but he did have a backup plan. "There was a point in my life when I didn't do anything except practise music. Working in a factory was my backup option," he said.

"Even after my first album was released, I didn't know how I would make money out of it. It was only when this one guy came up to me and asked me to do a show in return of about Rs 2,500. I understood the process," Diljit remembers in an episode of Kissa Khwaabon Ka on Audible Suno.
