    Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films Issues Statement Over Reports Of Suspicious Rs. 17 Crores Payment To Sushant Singh Rajput

    Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is still being investigated by the CBI with the Enforcement Directorate looking into the money laundering angle of the case for the past few months now. Recently a news report claimed that the actor received a suspicious payment of Rs. 17 crores which the ED traced back to Raabta producer Dinesh Vijan who allegedly made this payment to the actor in Hungary.

    According to reports Dinesh Vijan who was asked to provide documentation on the payments made to Sushant for the 2017 film and other budget-related documents. It was said that the producer failed to furnish some of these documents following which his offices were searched in October and documents were procured suggesting that the budget of the film was about Rs. 50 crores while Sushant received a payment of Rs. 17 crores.

    Dinesh Vijan, the report claimed, was asked by the ED about this suspicious Rs. 17 crores payment and but the filmmaker failed to give answers regarding how the payment was made.

    Rubbishing reports of paying this amount to Sushant, Dinesh’s Madock Films has now issued a statement.

    Kindly note that Maddock Films has not made any payment to Sushant in Hungary. Maddock has also not received Rs.17 crores whether as actor fee, or any rebate from Hungary as wrongly claimed in your article. We have made full and final payment to Sushant for the film Raabta as per the agreement signed by him with us, and this payment was received by him in India. We have submitted relevant documents for the proof of such payment to the department. It should be noted that in fact all funding and financial transactions for the shooting in Hungary were handled by T-series. You may confirm from T Series. Maddock Films is a responsible filmmaker and we dutifully follow the rules and law of our country.
