Sonu Nigam’s claim that two music mafias dominate the business and do not give opportunities to new musicians has now become a full-blown
controversy. The singer recently named Bhushan Kumar in an Instagram video and accused him of maligning his image and warned the T-Series chairman to not mess with him.

Now Sonu’s warning had been responded to by Bhushan Kumar’s wife and director Divya Khosla Kumar. In her Instagram stories, she claimed that Sonu is doing this to gain publicity and if he had grudges with her husband he could have spoken earlier. She also reminded him that he started his career with the music label T-series and called him thankless.

She wrote, “Today it’s all about who can run a good campaign.. I'm even seeing people being able to sell lies and deceits with their strong campaigns.. #SonuNigam such kind of people know how to play with the minds of the audience.. God save our world.”

“Sonu Nigam Ji T-Series ne aapko industry mein break diya, apko aage badaya .. agar aapko itni hi khundas thi Bhushan se toh phele kyun nahi bole.. Aaj publicity ke liye kyon kar rahe hai.. aapke pitaji ke khud maine itne videos direct kiye jiseke liye voh humesha itne shukar guzar rehte the. But some people are thankless #achasiladiyatunemerepyaarka”

Sonu Nigam on the other hand found a supporter in singer Adnan Sami who released a statement bashing the ‘self appointed gods’ of the music industry. The singer also said,  that “the Indian film and music industry seriously needs a ‘herculean‘ shake up. Especially in the context of music, new singers, veteran singers, music composers & music producers – who are being exploited to the hilt!!”

Questioning if remakes and remixes is all the industry has left to offer Adnan said that ‘change is here and knocking on your door.’

Sonu Nigam’s original plea in a vlog after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death was that the music companies become more welcoming of newer talents. He also said that due to the constant rejections faced by musicians one may soon hear of a death from the music industry.
