Divya Khosla Kumar Counters Sonu Nigam's Allegations, Says He Sang At A Ram Leela Till Gulshan Kumar Spotted Him

Director Divya Khosla Kumar after calling Sonu Nigam thankless in an Instagram story has now posted a long video fighting all his allegations on her husband Bhushan Kumar. Sonu in his original video has called out two labels ‘music mafias’ for discouraging new talent and said that people might soon hear of deaths in the music industry.

Divya in her video has countered Sonu’s threat to Bhushan Kumar asking the latter not to mess with him. Calling it Sonu’s ‘campaign against T-series and Bhushan Kumar’, Divya claimed that the label has given a break to thousands of outsiders and questioned the singer that being a ‘legend’ himself how many people has he helped or introduced in the industry himself?

Divya said, “Besides yourself, you haven’t given a chance to any other talent in the industry and today you blame us that we don’t give people a chance?”.  The Yaariyan filmmaker also went on to point out that Sonu used to sing in Delhi Ram Leela for 5 rupees where Gulshan Kumar (Bhushan Kumar’s father) spotted him, give him flight tickets to Mumbai and told him “Beta, I will make you a big star”.  She then pointed out that when Gulshan Kumar was killed in 1998, Sonu Nigam left the label and recorded an album for another and wasn’t there for the family that helped him grow in his career.

Countering his claim that producer Bhushan Kumar asked Sonu to save him from Abu Salem, Divya posed the question how did he know the Abu Salem in the first place to be in a position to help her husband. The director also said that while Sonu Nigam has threatened to out a Me Too video on Bhushan, they have been blackmailed by many during the Me Too movement and the police investigated and found nothing.

Mentioning that the singer’s campaign has once again exposed them to threats and people are blackmailing them, giving death threats to Bhushan Kumar and threatening their child while Divya is getting rape threats.

She went say that the singer’s wife ascertained his ‘type’ when she publicly levied allegations against him. Divya ended the video saying, ‘The war is on.’
