Drishyam 2’s Hindi Remake To Bring Back Ajay Devgn And Tabu, Film To Be Directed By Jeethu Joseph?

It has just been a day since Mohanlal starrer Drishyam 2 hit the screens, although that of our computers and mobiles only. The film, which is a sequel of the cult 2013 movie, released directly on OTT via Amazon Prime. Reports had also been doing the rounds that the Hindi remake rights of the film had been bought much before its release by none other than Kumar Mangat. And now, more information about it is out.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Drishyam 2 is also all set to go on floors soon. And there’s a good news for fans- it would bring back Ajay Devgn and Tabu. The other cast members including Shriya saran and Ishita Dutta will be back too. A source said, "Ajay Devgn and Kumar Mangat had decided to buy the rights to remake Drishyam 2 ever since it was announced. Now, they are putting together a team to bankroll the project. Ajay Devgn is also chalking out his dates to schedule this film sometime later this year. He will return with Tabu for Drishyam 2 and the makers are eyeing to go on the floors around the last quarter of 2021 after Ajay wraps up work on his other films. They wish to release it sometime next year.”

But after Nishikant kamat’s untimely demise, who would direct the film? The source adds, “Ajay and Kumar were discussing who they can pitch this film to helm. There were a few names on the table including Sujoy Ghosh. But they are most likely to sign Jeethu Joseph, the director of the Malayalam versions, to direct the Hindi version too."

Well, it sounds interesting already and we wish that it is all true! We are waiting eagerly for the official confirmation.
