Esha Gupta Remembers Being Called ‘Gareebon Ki Angelina Jolie’; Opens Up About Dealing With Trolls

The beautiful Esha Gupta began her career with Femina Miss India in 2007, where she was crowned as Miss Photogenic. She went on to debut in Bollywood with Mahesh Bhatt’s Jannat 2 opposite Emraan Hashmi in 2012 and garnered a huge fan following thanks to her amazing screen presence and her captivating performance. During her initial years in the industry, Esha was often compared to popular Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie because of her chiseled features.

Talking about the same to Bollywood Life, the actress shared that she still doesn’t see it. She explained, “Well, I may have seen it a couple of times, when people do that collage with two posters. So, at that time, the pictures they actually picked up...even I was like, ‘Okay...maybe’.” However, what annoyed her was when trolls began calling her ‘Gareebon Ki Angelina Jolie’. She stated, “People would call me, ‘Oh...gareebon ki Angelina Jolie.’ And, I used to say, ‘Yeah, but you’re calling yourself gareeb there.’ I’m not saying that, I did not ask to look like this, it’s my parents’ production and I look like this.”

Eventually Esha realized that there will always be a section of people who judge you or are unhappy with you for some reason or another. So she took the high road and stopped caring about these trolls. On being compared to Jolie, Esha said, “Look at her though, she's not only one of the hottest, I really wish I had talent like her or be where she is...I really wish that. And she has Brad Pitt by the way...so (laughs and trails off).”
