Everything You Wanted To Know About Lakshya, The ‘New Face’ Of Karan Johar’s Dostana 2

It has been speculations forever when it came to the third face of the Dharma Productions’ Dostana 2. And finally, Karan Johar has put an end to all of it by sharing on his social media handle about Lakshya who will be ‘debuting’ with the film.

Lakshya will be playing the love interest of both Kartik Aaryan And Jahnvi Kapoor and it will be interesting to watch the chemistry between the three actors! Especially the bond between Kartik and Lakshya!

Karan Johar in a statement said, “We believe in introducing new talent to the film fraternity. We are proud to have introduced over 20 first-time filmmakers and seven actors in the recent past. We are excited to introduce Lakshya, the newest addition to the family. We will be introducing him in Dostana 2. He was chosen after a series of meticulous auditions and test shoots. We are thrilled to engulf him in our creative world and look forward to creating celluloid magic together.”

Well, all of this is pretty good! But did you know who Lakshya actually is? Did you know that he is not really facing the camera for the first time! Well, he has done it a number of times earlier!

So, His real name is Laksh Lalwani!

That’s right! He is the same guy who was a contestant in Roadies X2 and had played the lead role in the Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Magnum Opus ‘Porus’ that used to air on Sony Entertainment Television. He played the role of Puru in the series. His role and Siddharth Tewary’s direction was applauded but the TRP’s dwindled during the end of the series.

Laksh was a model much before he began his career on television with the MTV show Roadies X2 and thereafter it was MTV India’s Warrior High. (Both happened in 2015) Warrior High was aimed at a young audience revolved around a group of students of Warrior High, which happened to be a boarding school in Dehradun, India.

The actor was also part of Adhuri Kahaani Hamari which aired on &TV. It was a series produced by Gul Khan under the banner of 4 Lions Films. It was a reincarnation and fantasy drama. Laksh Lalwani was paired opposite Mahima Makwana and his Porus co-star Suhani Dhanki.

Controversies –

Laksh Lalwani is not someone who has been in the television industry for a long time. But for whatever time he has been on the tube, there have been constant allegations hurled at him for his bad behaviour and his habit of throwing tantrums on his co-stars and co-workers!

It was during one Holi celebration hosted by &TV during Laksh’s stint in Adhuri Kahaani Hamari when the lead actors got into a tiff and there were rumours about Mahima slapping him tightly on his face on camera because of which his sunglasses fell on the ground and he left immediately. Later Laksh stated, “As we were giving interviews, Mahima got a little too excited and got aggressive while putting colours on me. It was unintentional and thus I did not react.”

“Then in the next interview, after I applied colour on her face, she vigorously rubbed her hands on my face due to which my sunglasses fell down and colour got in my eyes. I asked for a cut and left as I was not in a state to give an interview. But after some time, I got back and completed the interview,” he added.

Later, there was also another incident where Laksh was reported to be slapped a second time by Mahima. To this, he reacted saying, “This is quite shocking. I wonder why people tend to spread such rumours. We are young, working really hard and deserve our space and time to grow in life.”

According to another report in Indiatoday.in, during the launch of Sony TV’s Porus the former Roadies’ contestant had gotten into a dirty fight with one of the crew members.

Laksh Lalwani was also rumoured to be in close proximity to actress Rashami Desai after she split from husband Nandish Sandhu. Hinting at Laksh, Rashami had mentioned on her social media profile, "It is a golden thread which binds us together.. Thanks @iamsolaksh for always being my side !!! #FriendsLikeFamily (sic)
